Welcome to Behind the Event!

There’s what people see at an event—and then there’s everything that happens to make it all come together.

Welcome to Behind the Event, a space where I’m pulling back the curtain on the planning, the people, the costs, the decisions, the unexpected moments, and everything in between.

As an event marketer, I’ve learned that the finished event is only one part of the story. What guests experience for a few hours can take months of planning, countless decisions, difficult conversations, unexpected challenges, and a whole lot of work that nobody ever sees.

And honestly? That’s the part I want to talk about.

More Than Pretty Details

Events are about so much more than centerpieces, timelines, venues, and décor.

They’re about people.

They’re about budgets and priorities. Family dynamics and friendships. Business goals and brand experiences. Guest expectations and vendor relationships. The decisions that make an event feel effortless—even when getting there was anything but.

Sometimes planning an event brings out the best in people.

Sometimes it reveals their true colors.

Sometimes the biggest challenge isn’t the event at all. It’s managing expectations, navigating opinions, or figuring out what actually matters when everyone has something to say.

And sometimes, the best events happen when you stop trying to make everything perfect and start focusing on what makes the experience meaningful.

What We’ll Talk About

Behind the Event is where I’ll share my perspective on wedding planning and wedding advice, along with the moments, lessons, wins, challenges, and surprises that happen before, during, and after an event.

We’ll talk about expert insight, event and wedding trends, and the things happening across the industry that are worth paying attention to. But we’ll also talk about something that doesn’t get nearly enough attention: the human side of events.

More Than the Event

I don’t believe there is one perfect way to plan a wedding or event.

Every celebration has different people, priorities, circumstances, and budgets. What works for one person may not make sense for another—and that’s okay.

My goal with Behind the Event isn’t to tell you exactly what you should do.

It’s to give you another perspective, and help you make decisions that make sense for your event.

That same philosophy is at the heart of my À La Carte Event Menu. Instead of fitting your event into a one-size-fits-all package, you choose the planning support you actually need, based on your priorities, your event, and your budget.

So, Let’s Get Behind the Event

Whether you’re planning a wedding, hosting an event, working in the industry, or simply curious about what really happens behind the scenes, I hope you’ll find something here that makes you think, laugh, reconsider, or maybe even say, “Wait…so I’m not the only one?”

I’ll share what I’ve learned, what I’ve witnessed, what I’m seeing in the industry, and the conversations I believe are worth having.

Because the event is what everyone sees.

But what happens behind it? That’s where the real story begins.

Welcome to Behind the Event. Because there’s more to every celebration than what you see.
